  Brad Newton
Brad Newton

Author of:
Brad Newton is known for his improvisational skills and his ability to make learning interactive and fun for all. The improvisation book is often recommended by national creativity programs such as Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination.

Newton graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. He went on to teach in the upper elementary grades for five years. He found his niche when he was asked to help develop and facilitate a program designed for "severely gifted" students. He thrived in this fertile environment for seven years. It was here that he discovered the educational potential of improvisation.

Over time, Newton applied his burgeoning knowledge of improvisation to his teaching process and curriculum. He began sharing his activities through teacher workshops at state and national levels and subsequently authored his book.

As a founding member of Kidprov, an educationally-based improv comedy troupe, Newton has had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of educational settings, working with every type of program and student imaginable. He thrives on the challenge of making improvisation meet the needs of all learners.

He is an energetic and humorous presenter who can convince anyone to add drama and improvisation to their classroom activities.

Aside from his educational ventures, Newton is a widely published free-lance photographer specializing in baseball. His clients include the Texas Rangers and Playoff sports cards. He and his lovely wife, Cecillia, live in Carrollton, Texas.
