Author of: Jean Watts is the author of two humor books, In Search of Perspective, and Off Hours, which contain hilarious cartoons of gifted children in typical situations at home and at school. Jean teaches fifth grade in Maine. She has taught gifted K-8, art, algebra, and college courses to teacher candidates. She has been a speaker for conferences on gifted children in 10 states, but enjoys working on creative projects from home.
Jean has been president of her local teachers union, served on what seems to her as every committee known to schools, and helped establish a Rural Schools Partnership ten years ago to assist eight small local school districts in sharing resources and development. She was awarded one of the certificates from the Hannaford Corporation/ Maine Department of Education as a teacher of the year nominee.
Jean has four grown children, and has been married 35 years to a man who still makes her laugh. She graduated with a BS in psychology from Kansas State University, and received her M.Ed. from the University of Maine.
